TECHNICAL ACHIVEMENTS
Since the year 1988 when
BARBACHANO & BENY was founded, thanks
to the firm's investigations, it has achieved the following:
- Development of new procedures and techniques that avoid the
use of presses thereby maintaining the dimensions and original texture of the paper, inks,
and pigments; in the case of books the original binding is conserved without
transformations.
- Introduction in Spain of a lamination system which uses
vacuum thermofusion. The adhesive is paraloid applied to tissue, it less harmless and more
reversible than polyethilene lamination.
- Desing of a new leafcaster, in a more European line, which is
compact, needs no carriage to transport screen and document into the machine, and is
presently installed in the archives of Spain.
- Incorporation of audiovisual methods: a video camera mounted
on an articulated arm used in microsurgery, and a binocular magnifier with a camera
incorporated in it which, in turn, is connected to a video moniter.
- Incoporation of ultrasonics with microaspiration for cleaning,
etc.
- Desing of laboratories which are technically advanced at a
minimun cost with greater security and hygiene in the restoration process; among them the
Archive of "Diputación Foral de Alava".
